some small spring wishes

Happy April!

How long has it been since I’ve shared a post like this? Too long. With the arrival of spring and the end of first quarter of this year, I took some time to think about what I want to achieve and all the things I want to go, because man, time is going fast!

Pick up my journal again

Going through my old journals is such an experience. There are so many emotions and experiences I forgot about until rereading them recently. I love to write things down, remember things and collect memories so I can remember what's been happening in my life. Whether I'm simply writing about my day, expressing some pent up emotions or making the page a bit more creative, it's always a super therapeutic and stress relieving activity. (defo what I need right now!!)

Spring clean

I want to clean out my wardrobes, my old makeup, old clothes i haven't worn in years, old bits and pieces I've been holding onto for too long. I'm a fan of reinvention and there's something satisfying to physically and mentally just clear out all the things you no longer need in your life. Might even crack out the old konmari method too.

Lean up

I’ve been lifting heavy and increasing my weights so there should be some muscle under my fluff! One of the things I love about fitness is that I’ve come to be okay with putting on weight. I've also become a lot more aware and critical of just how prevalent the notion that ‘skinny=good & healthy’ is in the media.

At times it's a bit uncomfortable to see your body change in a way that is considered undesirable, it's hard to adjust to and I have days where I feel a bit uncomfortable in myself. But a changing body is not a bad body, it's just a body and it's natural and that's important to remember.

The goal isn't to lose weight in terms of numbers, but just lean up, lose the extra fluff so the muscle comes out of hiding. I want to be strong and I want to progress and lift heavier and heavier. When I'm feeling a bit affected by the fluff I've gained, I always remind myself that I’m not here to make myself small, I'm here to grow and build myself into my best version of myself.

I mentioned reinvention and clearing out things you no longer need, and I can feel this is something I'm gonna be focusing on this spring and summer - clearing out the things that no longer serve a purpose or spark happiness in my life.

What are your spring goals?

  1. Spring cleaning is my favorite part about this time of year, I definitely can't wait to get started on that process.
